hello from chetopa ks I have a masterbuilt smoker and currently plan on building a wood smoker from old 250 gallon propane tank I am new to smoking just wanted to say hi

Hi Turningwrenches, glad to see ya joined the SMF family. Lots of people on the site have the same smoker you do, so any help you're looking for is lurking somewhere within the site.

There are also some pretty talented builders out there that have converted the type of tank you've got, into great rigs.
