Here are some of my first initial mock ups for a small smoker build. 16" schedule 40 pipe x 26" long with diamond plate ends. The fire box is 14" pipe x 16 inch long. Any input is appreciated. I'm using Pipe Saddles for the baffle plate. I believe my calculations are correct I have 2.5" schd 10 pipe for the chimney.

I'm seeking ideas for the Fire box damper controls. Can I control the chimney outflow as well?
Thanks guys

Here is an idea. Sorry I dont have a complete picture i was not able to find it, but on the end that is a matching outside plate that rotates to open or close the air flow.
If you have access to a cnc plasma cutter and 3d cad it takes a few minutes to draw up and export a program to cut. No sure what capabilities you have but hopefully this helps or gives you an idea of your own.

That's a nice idea. Did you use a plasma to cut those shapes?

NM. Lol just read the second half. I have a plasma but no CNC.

I am not sure of your budget but you could look into companies in your area and getting pricing for them to run the plate on a cnc plasma or it would be possible to do with hand held plasma... will they match perfect, no.... but with time and maybe some grinding make something work. I also am doing a similar intake, as the one above, for my current build, but made a slight change to help distribute air a little more evenly. Just double the holes, more work if doing manually though.
