Hello my name is Norm and I love BBQ.

Ever since I was a little boy I have always enjoyed BBQ. My dad introduced me to BBQ as a child and Im happy to say that its something I never get tired of. Born in Memphis I feel that BBQ is in my blood. I enjoy finding old BBQ places that have been around in different states. Usually Ga, SC, and NC . My wife calls these ventures a wild goose chase. Now she tells my little girl here we go on Daddys wild goose chase.

Things I love....

I enjoy smoking Pork Shoulders , Butts and Baby back ribs.

My strengths are Sauces. I am a sauce king. I love making sauces.

Pork shoulders and Butts

BBQ Baked Beans

Patience to stand by a grill all night long until its done.

My Weakness is

Rubs. I need to get away from being lazy and put together one good rub. I have worked on some rubs but end up with some pre packaged rub. I plan on finding a good rub for Pork shoulder and Beef Brisket.

Brisket in general I love .. I had some awesome brisket at Blacks BBQ at Lockhart, Tx would love to put together a Brisket this year.

One of my Favorite BBQ places that shutdown was The Ga. Pig in Brunswick, Ga

This place had a great old cabin feel with a stone hearth. My family visited it for at least 30 years.

I told the wife that someday I will own it if it ever goes for sale. .. I still wait so If you know who owns it IM me lol.

My smoker is a Egg shaped steel smoker that i found at Lowes I normally use Hickory, Apple and cherry woods with some charcoal mix.

Disadvantage of my smoker .. Thin walls makes temps vary so your always chasing a perfect temp especially after the sun goes down.

Advantage of my smoker. It gets the job done lol and thats the extent of it.

I tell you this. You know you love food when you take a picture of it.
