Hello all, My name is Tom. I'm 34, Married with 2 kids 7 and 9. My wife cooks during the week and I cook on the weekends outside.

I've been lurking on these forums now for about a year but just decided to register and post. I found this site after I got curious about smoking one day while inside of Home Depot and was wondering what the heck smoking wood chunks/chips were used for that were in the BBQ isle. So I did some research and was immediately hooked on smoking meat. I told my wife about it and she bought me the famous ECB, lol. It has been fun learning how to use the dang thing and now and I finally have my ECB dialed in to where I can smoke a pretty mean tender Brisket. My next project will be to cold smoke some cheese once this heat wave is over. I have gotten lots of good ideas on how to do it from this site. I'm saving up for a better smoker but its hard because I've been unemployed since I got out of the Navy 3 years ago after 10 years of service.

I love this site and am grateful for all that I have learned from all of you!!!

Thanks all and happy smoking/grilling
