Hi everyone,
I live in Hong Kong and I am planning to build a smoker to smoke homemade sausages. Smoking is not common here (though there are a few Texas style restaurants), barbecue here means sticking some meat on a fork and roasting/burning it over a charcoal fuelled flame. Hong Kong is pretty small place and space is at a premium. Vast majority of people here live in flats; gardens or any personal outdoor space can be a rare thing.
I am very much learning everything I can by reading stuff online and checking out videos on YouTube and finding this forum has been amazing. I look forward to learning more.
I am consolidating an idea I have for building an electric smoker (wood fuel is not easily available here... ). I look forward to any advice for a build that I have in mind. Hopefully I can post about this in a couple of days.
This might be a fool’s errand but I am keen to see this through and it will be definitely worth the effort.
Thank you all,
Jeremy

Jeremy - Being in Hong Kong you are not far from the areas where most electric smokers are manufactured. I suspect you could do a google search of manufacturers and find quite a few companies manufacturing smokers at all different price points.

Good luck on your build. From what I've seen on TV regarding the local markets, you have access to a lot of unusual meat, seafood, and veggies to cook in your smoker.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your new smoking adventure. Go with what's most readily available in your area.

Chris

I saw a guy selling a small smoker setup down in Stanley Market but that was quite a while back.
