Hello everyone,
After reading several threads on this forum I have decided to become a member.
I am new to smoking, in fact so new that I am right now waiting for UPS to deliver my first smoker.
I am 35 years old and live in the tampa bay area of Florida. I have been grilling since my teens, but never managed to get a smoker. I am so excited for my first to arrive, I can almost taste all the things I can imagine making.
Here recently I
have been doing a ton of research online to figure out how to smoke. So far I have found a lot of information, but I won't know how good it is till I am able to finally start smoking.
I am working on getting some wood together for this wonderful smoking odyssey. I am still not sure what I should be getting. I have an oak and grapefruit tree in my yard that I am in the process of trimming up and get ready for use. Anyone familiar with using grapefruit wood that could tell me how much seasoning is needed would be appreciated. also same goes for the oak.
Anyway, hope to learn lots of new and delicious things here.
