When I saw the T-Bone steaks on WaterRat’s post I responded that I was going for that tonight.

Having said that, my local Safeway offers crud for beef, and being retired and lazy, before heading into the car and driving 10 miles, I thought I’d check the freezer.

Did I mention I was lazy? There were hanger steaks. Hit them up with some McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning, and onto the grill with the fresh corn. Oh, and I found that box of beef Rice-A-Roni (Beef).

Thanks to WaterRat for the idea. T-Bone’s next on the list for beef…….promise.

Looks great to me! Don't eat rice a roni very often but wife makes a really good chicken rice a roni casserole. Steaks are cooked to perfection!

Hanger is hard to find around here but that sure looks great!

Keith

I've only found it in one store out here, but they carry it consistently. Even other locations of the same store do not have it. I buy enough to vac and freeze.

Hanger steak seems to sometimes have an "off" flavor.
I don't know if it depends on the specific animal, or the way it is trimmed.
Because of its location on the animal, it is one of the first things removed during processing. I have had meat processors somehow "loose" my hanger steak and substitute one from a different animal, usually with a not-so-good outcome. But when you get a good one, hangers are a fantastic cut.

Wow that looks good! I love Rice-a-roni. I messed up one time and forgot to turn the burner off. It got really crispy on the bottom and turned out so good!

Brian & Jim, I buy Rice-a-roni by the 12pk
Ever since we were kids, my brothers and I would ask my Ma to make the Rice-a-roni crispy, I still make it that way weekly.

Matter of fact, yesterday I ordered two 12pks from Amazon.
They have a KILL'ER deal on the assorted cases right now, check it out, it's dirt cheap. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0719CJ7TD?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1

Dan.

I checked out the link. It shows the 10 pack. We eat Rice-a-roni once in awhile. A 10 pack would last some time with us. We like it, but we don’t eat a lot of it.

Safeway throws it on sale for $1.25 a couple of times a year. We usually stock up then. But a $1.15 on Amazon is a good price!
