GURU HELP

I am having an insulated firebox built and plan on attaching a BBQ GURU to it. I contacted them and they said for a firebox larger then 18X18 you will need two fans. My question is does it need to be two of there 25cfm fans or can I do (1) 25 and (1) 10. Again this will be an insulated firebox with the interior dimensions being 20X20X26 with the basket being 2" off the bottom for air flow.

I would get two fans of the same size and go with the 25cfm models.  Even if you go over sized, the Guru will only let them run when needed.  The Guru can always throttle them back but once they are maxed out, that's all you got.  Remember to work properly, the air from these fans is the only air coming into your firebox.  Having more air available will also let you recover from the pit being open much quicker.

Yeah but I didnt get a clear answer from them. I also asked the size of the nozzle for the fans so I could weld something onto my firebox door to fit it and never got an answer on that question either. Hopefully someone here that uses the setup will chime in and let me know.Also do you want the fans at grate level or underneath the grate.

Look around here for raptors build..I think he has just one fan on his big trailer unit..it runs pretty much non stop when he is at a comp...I might have a pic somewhere too...

OK I found the build thread..doesnt have the guru yet..but I am pretty sure he has one fan..

I will call him in a day or two and ask him where its placed...
