does anyone know the laws for transporting your  gun from state to state? I am going from Florida to Alabama to see my uncle and wanted to bring my sks i just got to shoot on his land but my buddy said i might not be able to take it threw Georgia.?

Is there any laws on this or what??

Flying, Driving, Skateboard?  If your driving just lock it in a gun case, put the mags and ammo in a seperate locked container. After all this is stil the USA right! You can visit Smokey The Bear these days with a handgun.

we are driving up there on Friday and just want to make sure I don't do anything illegal before i get there!!
But after you get there is another story? LOL Thats a nice gun you got there. Good luck with the transport.

My bro-in-law and I drove from Jacksonville, Fl to Phoenix, Az in 34 or so hours, nobody wanted to see our guns.. Drive fast through Georgia.

I don't actually know the gun laws in Ga but I sure see lots of gun racks in pickup truck windows with guns in them while there

Actually I would put it unloaded in a gun case in the trunk and I think you'd be fine. I have a concealed weapons permit which is honored in Ga but I also always have a rifle hanging off the back of the seat in my truck in a soft case that hooks to the head rests. That being said I have never been pulled over in Ga

While you could probably get away with driving through Georgia with a 50 cal mounted to the roof of your F-150, I would check the local laws just to be sure (as suggested above).

I sent you a PM you with Georgia Title 16, Chapter 11, Section 126 that should clear it up. Georgia is about as easy as Florida to transport firearms
