Hey guys - Need some advice.  I need to a better grinder, I am currently using a KitchenAid attachment but my batches are getting too large and one of these days my wife is gonna be really mad when I finally blow up her food processor......

I usually grind about 150 lb per year during hunting season, up to 70 lb at a time.  I see the recommendations on here for the Northern Tool #12 but I'm not sure that is big enough.  I would like to go a little bigger, with everything metal inside, but am having sticker shock.  It looks like prices quickly go to about $400 once you go to a big one.  I'm not against spending $200-$350, but don't want to break the bank on a grinder.  I also don't want one that weighs 65 lb like some of those do!!

Please throw me some suggestions of grinders to check out, thanks!!

When I was looking to buy mine, I felt that the Cabela's was going to give me the best bang for my buck......http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabe...grinders&WTz_l=Header;Search-All+Products...I have had mine for several years now and have grinder hundreds of pounds of meat through it.....I have been extremely pleased with it !!!!  Since I bought my sausage stuffer, I've been able to take some of the extra work off the grinder it self also, a sausage stuffer is a very nice compliment to a grinder......Not trying to be a salesman, but there are a lot of great deals this time of the year on these type of items and if you join there "Club" they will send you coupons for a little better savings on there products.....ShoneyBoy

I was in the same boat as you were in about 5 years ago. I went to Bass Pro and picked up a LEM grinder and never looked back. It grinds well and has done what I want it to do while grinding my deer and pork, even a re grind to mix up the pork and deer better. The next year I picked up the cuber for it to make cube steaks with, great tool.I picked up the small grinder like below in the pic.I grind at least 3 deer every year with it. I think the smaller ones grind fast enough that you don't need a big one.Hope this helps you.

I'm debating between the #12 and the #22, any recommendations on size?  I usually grind about 3 animals per year, one elk and a deer or two.
