New to smoking, in fact just ordered an Old Smokey Electric, and I'm waiting for it to be delivered first part of next week. I have been looking through some post, and have already started taking notes. Can't wait to get started smoking.

Welcome to the forum. Man that must be hard waiting for that smoker. I got so antsy I canceled my order and drove 4 1/2 hours each way to cabelas to get my first real smoker. Just so I didn't have to wait a week.

Make sure you take pics ( qview ) of the new rig. we loves Q view.

While your waiting for it to arrive check out the forum for any modifications ( mods ) that may make your model of smoker a better smoker. Never trust the thermometer that comes with a new smoker untill you check it out with other thermometers. You may have to calibrate it.

The forum is rife with posts about meat ruined or almost ruined because the new thermometer was way off. Some are bang on but a whole lot are not useable.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...
