i was looking at the gravity 560 and was wondering if there is a bigger version made by anyone? or anything similar just a bit bigger? just does not look like it would do anything more then one brisket.

also if anyone has a opinion on this vs the louisiana vertical pellet smoker. Its on sale for a good price and they both look good i like the gravity more its just a little small.

They just came out with the 1050, it's looks awesome! It runs $800 Go on youtube and Kosmos BBQ does a video making 6 racks of baby backs. The few dings I heard about them is they are a little tough to keep clean

I bought one of the first 560's and it's perfect for the small area available for it, plus I'm only cooking for the wife and myself.
It works like a charm, the temp control is fantastic, better than anything I've used and I have owned and used quite a few smokers.
Placing hardwood in with the charcoal and in the ash catch basket produces great smoke flavor in the meat, just a touch below the best offset stick burner.
I retired from tending stick burner fires two years ago (too dang hot in Austin in the summer) so the 560 allows me to stay pinned in the la-z-boy beer in hand right under the ice cold ac vent for many hours before more charcoal and wood need to be added.
Not sure how long it will last but at that price i don't really care, I love it.

ok assuming that a good cook smokes something like brisket/pork butt on a gravity charcoal vs a pellet smoker at roughly same time temps.
How much better/ more flavor do you think it would get? i am just not sure if i would get much better food or value for one or the other.
Sorry having a terrible time deciding between a gravity fed charcoal or pellet. BTW bbqguys is having a big memorial day sale/

i can tell you i researched the chit out of this and went with the MB 1050. I simply could not help myself when the guy at cabelas offered me $120 off for getting approved for a cabela's card, $20 off in bonus points for being approved and i was able to use the points i already had on the gf's(yes, in this circumstance i mean girlfriend) account.

all i could hear was old ben telling me it was my destiny. very surreal.
