Hello everyone, just got my first smoker for my birthday its a masterbuilt signature series with the meat probe and the remote.

The only thing I have noticed that was kinda odd that the remote would stop working if u barley touched it..come to find out the little battery terminal for one of the batteries was barley touching i just pulled out the little spring with a needle and shoved a peice of tin foil in it. seems to work.

Anyway so far I smoked some ribs last night they came out awsome. I did the 221 for baby backs on this forum im mad that I cant seem to find the guys name that I read it from but they came out awsome. I am now doing a whole chicken, ill post some pics of it on here.

was wondering if anyone had any tips on using that kind of smoker or if they like it or not and what do and dont they like about it.

My MES has an internal smoker element (I think most of them do) so it's tough to smoke at low temperatures like 100 or 120 because the chips don't really get going. I'm sure there's tons of workarounds out there for that kind of thing but I found using a little smoke box (like the amazn or the like) is a good supplement to the MES. If I'm not getting enough smoke at low Temps (like when cooking fish) I will pop the amazn smoke box in.
