GOSM Wood Chip Box Lid

Is there a purpose for the wood chip box lid? I have run my smoker with and without it and really donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t see much difference other than itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a lot harder to add additional wood during a cook. Do you use it or not?

I don't use mine either. I think the purpose might be to keep too much air from getting to the wood in case it catches on fire. Just a WAG on my part!

I dont use mine, actually dont even know where the lid is anymore.

That is my opinion. Only helps to cut down on the flames....some.

i dont use the lid--use the box to put foil chip pouches in....wet chips with holes in the foil burn nice...
