I have noticed my patio is getting grease spots on it under the back legs of my Big Block. I have only seasoned it and then did 4 fatty's Sunday morning. Is this a common thing or am I looking at a problem here?
I'll have to look at mine when I get home, but I don't think it's leaking anything. I did a Fatty last week and yesterday did a whole chicken and some beans but didn't notice. I'll check 2nite!
My big block does'nt leak like that. Try foiling the greas pan, I do it just to save cleanup time. BTW, I use a wet/dry vac to remove ashes from the burner and adjoining support braces, I also use it on the burner jets.
No, I din't mean that the grease pan leaks. The foil might catch the grease that is slipping between the grease pan and the cabinet. Leave some foil up against the cabinet walls. Good luck.
Mine does that sometimes, too...no big deal. HD or Lowes sells a heat proof grill pad you can put under it to protect your deck or concrete from stains. Around here, they are displayed with the rest of the grilling tools/accesories.
Whenever I scrape the grates or clean the small bits of accumulated grease from my tuning plates I just flick it over by the retaining wall. Within a few minutes she has it sniffed out and is having a little snack.
I have grease pool up under the legs of my GOSM also, I figure it's grease that's collecting on the smoker walls as food cooks (splatters and pops) and just runs down and exits through the corners of the smoker.
mine gooes out the back. spilling water or just sitting the 100+ sun. I put a 3 dollar drip pan from the auto part store undermine. I had to get one for my project car so i just got an extra. saves the redwood deck
