No...not smoking related, but since we all like to eat i thought i would ask this here anyway! I am going on a cruise in a couple months and looking for a good place to eat seafood. Flying into FLL a day ahead so will have all evening for dinner. Staying close to the airport, and will be going by cab...so it needs to be fairly close to the airport. Only requirement is good seafood. Thank you in advance.

Use to work in FLL a week a month and discovered a real blue collar type seafood restaurant on the intercoastal.

One of those places that searve a good meal, and if you burp it's a complement to the good food instead of a bunch of snobs looking down their nose at you.

And they even hand out receipes of their top dishes.

Not sure of the name, but I'm sure you ask around, you'll find it. It's been there forever.

I have looked at the reviews of a ton of places...but most reviews vary from meh bad service ok food...to awesome place, best food ever on the same place. Was looking for some personal experiences...

A few i have been looking at are Rustic Inn (it would be within walking distance a nice plus), quarterdeck seafood bar, and southport raw bar. Anyone been to any of these?

That could be the Rustic Inn. The one i was really guessing we would hit up since its within walking distance. Been around since 1950 or something.

Nope!!! When you go to FL, you need to go to Howard Johnsons and get 2 hot dogs and a bowl of clam chowder

OK this is your plan I would fly into Fort Lauderdale and then jump on the first plane to Jacksonville and then go to Billy's Boat House in Beach Marina. It is right overlooking the marina and the food most of the time was swimming that day or at least the day before. I know first hand for I'm a friend of Billy Sishol.

i live about 10 mins from ft laud airport, tell me which place your staying and i'll help you, if your a day early and want to go to the beach i'll tell you aa good place also

if you want something out in the swamp like a swamp buggy ride or to airboat in the everglades i can help also

there are also a couple casinos close by also

ok HD   i did a little bit of scouting and have a few good options for you

1)  your hotel is on griffen road about 1 mile west of the airport

2)  Bass Pro Shops is right across the street and they have a nice seafood restaurant if you are inclined to eat there and maybe walk around if time is tight

3)  Directly west of your hotel no more than two blocks away is a reastaurant which has been around for quite some time,  it is directly on the water and has some great seafood and a nice view while you eat  not too ritzy but a nice place  Rustic Inn on ravenswood road which is adjacent to your hotel on the west side

4)  if you get in real early you might want to take a cab to hollywood beach boardwalk and walk around the shops and pier which is right on the beach   they have a real good place which is openair dining and always has a live band good food and drinks while you are on the ocean

5)  if you want to make a long night of it  the SEMINOLE HARD ROCK CASINO is due west right down griffen road about two miles  this is like a mini LAS VEGAS and there are many restauraunts there including a very good BBQ place called BBQ rendevous  also seafood places and gambling, shows and gerenral fun place to be  but this is south fla and the action starts late although it is open all day and night   if this sounds good just look it up on the web and you can see all details and  how nice it is
