I lived in Tulsa for a year when I was a youngster, and I have maintained an affinity for my second "home state". Normally, I would pull for OU in this game, but it would be nice to see a school from outside of the normal powers get a shot at the championship. When in the FFA in high school, the good folks at Mizzou allowed one our competition teams to train on campus the week of the national finals in KCMO; so, I will be none too disappointed if Mizzou goes all of the way.
As for college football in general, I have degrees from three institutions with top football programs in their respective divisions. I have an associates from Georgia Military College, which is currently ranked #4 in the JUCO polls and won the championship in '01 with runners-up years in '02 and '05. I have a bachelors from Valdosta State (GA) University, which will host a D-II quarterfinal playoff game this coming Saturday. VSU won the championship in '04 and was the runner-up in '02. I have a masters from UGA, but I don't get too hot and bothered with them.
D-II has playoffs, and the playoffs are by far more fun than bowl games and a BCS. The game action is just as fun, and you don't get the drunken brawls and traffic jams of the "big time" football programs.
