Can someone tell me why when I log out of a group thread (typically one of the MES groups) I get 3 or more duplicate SMF popup windows. I've seen this behavior with sites of an unsavory nature so I don't understand what's happening here. It's a hassle to logout of SMF.com, have these windows pop up, and have to close them individually. A couple of times there have been like seven windows. Is this a site programming issue?

Rick, morning...  I have had problems in the past.... Found out I needed to update the software...   Look for IE updates or MSN updates...  or what ever provider you have.. I finally set my puter to automatic updates and all is well (for now)....   Dave

Thanks for your response, Dave. I already have IE set to auto update, though, and this is the only site I have the problem with. I haven't tried it with Firefox yet, which the only other browser I use. And the problem doesn't occur every time, so I don't know if it's thread or page dependent or not.

I also use Firefox because many times IE will have issues but FF won't. I'm just more used to using IE and find it more user friendly than FF.  I feel these two browsers are enough; years ago I experimented with others but didn't like them much. Chrome is a Google browser and I typically restrict my Google use to blogging and searches.

If you don't want to use the Google product Chrome, then get an open-source version of Chromium such as SRWare Iron if you wish. http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_download.php
If you turn off scripting and social media, etc. as I said above, you won't be tracked.
Short of that, you're being tracked constantly no matter what browser you use. They're watching you!!!
I was an avid Firefox user for years, but switched to Chromium, it's WAY better...and faster!

Martin, this is the first I've heard of the open source Chromium software. Thanks for the link--I'll check it out.
