Yesterday my wife and I went out the Golden Gate for some Rock Cod and Ling Cod. Came home with limits of both (10 rock and 2 ling). Flat water and fun people to spend the day with. Lots of foods. I passed around a big ole bag of...............yes smoked Ling Cod plus some beef Jerky I made. Oh and the above is my first caught Ling a Ding.
Look out wife, you are no longer the only family member who can bring home some nice fish. :p

I assume that fish is as tasty as it is ugly. We don't have those here in the mitten. Do you brine them before smoking?
Yes, I wet brine both Rock and Ling Cod before smoking them as nuggets.

Griz400, One of our main staples is Rock Cod fillets in some Panko and other crumbs on the stove top. Yumm!

Outstanding catch! So jealous! I haven't been on the ocean since August and I have a serious jones for some fresh Lingcod. Our season up here has been closed but it opens back up on Jan 1st. I hope the conditions will allow an opportunity in the very near future.

My favorite way is Pride of the West beer batter and fried in peanut oil. The pan fried Panko crumb is a close second. But now the Doc says I need to watch my cholesterol and putting me on meds now. So I'm hoping an air fryer will produce satisfactory results. Of course the smoker will be put to the test in different methods as well.

Great Catch, Way to go. I have not been lucky enough to do any fishing on the west coast yet, Hoping to get some in this spring though.
