Freezer Question

I had a freezer quit working and ordered one of these to replace it and before I go pick it up would like some comments from anybody that may own one. I got lucky and didn't loose much stuff when the other one quit working but am looking forward to the alarm on it for the future.

We have owned several kenmore series freezers in my family. All have lasted 15 years minimum, and I think one failed within a month. Normally, the condensation forms in the lid and pulls the insulation out before the compressor quits.

Well the one that quit was a Kenmore that was about 8 years old. However I know most last longer so I'll try another

Just saw it's upright. All ours were chest, but I don't see where it would matter???

Upright frezeers tend to frost over more than a chest. Why, I don't know.
But as for Kenmore brand, Iv'e always bought national brands until just recently. My stove went out and so we bought what was on sale--a Kenmore! Guess what? It keeps its heat longer than my GE ever did!

Piney, whats the deal with the alarm??

So you buy stuff without researching it first

It has an alarm system that will flash and beep every 5 seconds if the door is left open. It will also alarm if the interior temp goes above 23* for more than one hour it again will flash and beep every 5 seconds.

Flash almost all our appliances are Kenmore and this is supposed to be the best they have so yes I ordered it and figured if someone said something real bad I would cancel the order.

Bassman check your warranty this one says the refrigeration system says it has a warranty for 5 years

Oh I picked it up tonight and its pretty cool digital controls mounted on the upper outside of door
