It consists of over a million posts, many of which I GUARANTEE will answer the question you're about to post. So before you start a thread asking how to smoke a prime rib for Christmas, or how long to smoke a rack of ribs, or what temperature to smoke a pork butt and how long, please take a few seconds and enter the meat in question into the search bar and read the first 30-40 things that come up. If you can't find an answer, by all means start that thread and members will be glad to help.
The reason I mention this is the hundreds of new threads by newcomers asking the same basic questions over and over are starting to pollute search results. It's getting to the point that the first 15-20 responses to a search query are just the same question. Like I said, please post if you genuinely can't find an answer, but please put at least a little effort into it first.

Amen Boatbum!

I really enjoy helping out the rookies when they need it, but have also noticed the clutter in search results. You and I have been around the forums long enough to know that there aren't many subjects that haven't already been thoroughly covered, if a person will just spend a few minutes searching and reading before asking that question that's been asked ad nauseam.

Like you, I don't want to discourage newer folks from asking for help. If they either can't find what they're looking for or if they just don't understand it, by all means ask away and we'll still come running to help out.

Hey MDboatbum... I'm new to the site... Can you tell me how long it takes to smoke a pork butt?

After being a member of Fl fishing forums for years a good search engine is the best thing a web site can have. Use it..... then ask away.
