I posted the following on the Smokin-it forum but thought I would do the same here.

I have a opportunity to buy a SmokinTex commercial analog smoker with two heating elements and I would like to convert it to digital/Wi-Fi with the addition of a Smokin-it digital - Wi-Fi controller. I've looked at the available electrical information from Smokin-it but can't find anything about the SmokinTex electrical setup.

I don't think this would be too difficult but would like input from others before jumping in. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to SMF
Introduce yourself at roll call.

Not enough experience with electric units past my Big Chief.
Can you convert to an Auber PID ? Not sure if they have a Wi-Fi connect unit.

You're in the neighborhood. My winter home is 4 corners or the end of west bound US-192
Consider dropping in on the South Florida gathering later this year.

This comes from the Smokin-It forums on how to bypass the analog controller and add an Auber PID. It's my understanding the Smokin-Tex wiring is identical.I'll make the assumption that you've already seen it but I'll post a link just in case you missed it.
