Haven't done one of those yet , but have plenty of scrap to use up . That is a bunch of work , and a general end grain method , but the part that's left out is getting all the strips milled just so you can glue them up . I need 2 panels glued up to do 1 end grain board , I'm wondering if he needed all 3 to just get the one board .

Best part of all of it is when the oil goes on .
Thanks for posting .

Very nice , thanks for posting Keith.

He has the jigs all geared up for those nicely.

i wish my shop was even a third that cleaned up. Just saying.

Makes a huge difference , especially in time . Also gives confident results .
Really need a drum sander for end grain stuff .

Yes you do rich, nice set up you have there.

I built a sled years ago for squaring up larger panels for my big table saw. I'm in the process of making my kitchen cabinets for our other building I just finished. I did not really have the time , but no one would build them the way I wanted . So I guess I found the time to build. Same as the cabinets for our kitchen in our home.

Big cabinet shops only want to build the norm boxes, they cant think outside the box at all.
So that is why I have to build myself.

I used to build the doors also , but I can order them to what ever size I want to the 1/16th of an inch, and have them shipped to me while I build and finish the boxes and drawers.

Just made this pattern for doing a groove on a radius end board .

That worked out very nice, It is hard to tell from the picture. Is your centre part of the board higher then the outside area ( say like a raised panel ) Sorry I guess it would not be , asfter going through the drum sanded .

How did you hold the template panel to the board for the routing ?

Double faced tape .
centre part of the board higher
No , but it sure looks like it in the picture . I had to use a tray and bowl bit to make that cut . You just gave me an Idea for some mock raised panel doors . I have a door set . Stile , rail and raised panel bits . Haven't used it in years .

I was wondering if you used tape or clamp one end at a time. You ouviously trust the tape . mind if I ask what kind you bought. I have the rubber kind of mat to go between the wood, but if you don't clean them really well, it might slip.

Thats what I thought you did at first, until I thought about it. I also have the stile and rail raised and square edge bits, but like you I have not used them in years.

I'm not sure of the brand , but I think it's actually extreme hold reinforced carpet tape . Has fiber mesh in it . I use a 6 " knife to get the peices apart . It's 2 " wide .
I have some 1/2 inch also , just regular double stick .

I also used blue painters tape and instant bond adhesive with the spray activator .
Tape on both peices of wood , adhesive on the tape , then spray that with the activator and put them together . Sticks instantly so you have to make sure it's lined up .

No problem Rich, I will look it up and see what i can find.

Is that like spray contact cement. I like the idea with the painters tape first on both items.

And yes, must be exact on where you want things. I glue up ( spray )or roll a lot of arbortite, formicia or wilson art laminates for different builds. Router and file work after they are installed.
