That looks nice and I've been wanting a good kitchen scale, but is there something comparable that's made to stand up to messy kitchen use? Resists spills, easy to clean, etc. Something that can zero out the tare weight of whatever container you have on the platform, before you start to measure whatever ingredient - so you don't have to dump directly onto the platform.

Starfrit makes a kitchen scale that does all that.  Miss Linda has one for her dieting, and it works great.  Can't remember what it cost, but wasn't expensive.
