For those of you that have a flat top griddle, how is the grease splatter? Do you have a mess on your patio or deck?

We have a new very nice patio, and I'm hesitant that a flat top is going to make a mess on the pavers.

Thank you!

I don't have a flat top, but I do use my electric smoker on our deck. What I did was get an inexpensive welders curtain from Harbor Freight big enough to give me covering around the sides of my smoker to put my holding tables and the remainder in the front of the smoker. I have a tendency to "spill a lot" according to Mrs. Wurtz?! 🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ LOL! Very little to any at the back of the unit. You might want to look at an 8'X8" fiberglass blanket to give you all around protection. Hope this is some help. 🍻 John

I wear an apron when I use mine. Rolling it out on the grass may be wise. I love using it, but it is messy.

I don't have a problem with splatter , but I have the old style Blackstone with the front drain . Runs down the leg and onto the concrete .
I got a rectangle clothes basket and cut the top off . I stick the legs in the bottom . Still a mess , but makes great food .

I've got the 22" Blackstone with the rear drain. Zero splatter, we love the thing! RAY

I have the 28" with the rear drain and no splatter either. Love this thing, but don't use it near as much as I would like. That's gonna change this Summer.

I had actually got mine out yesterday , then saw this post . I haven't used mine in over a year .
Had just a touch of lite rust on the top . Cleaned up nice . So much fun to cook on .

Have a blackstone 28 pro. Love it. Use it on my covered porch and have zero splatter

Yes it cleans up very easy and nice after no use in a while. I added a hard cover 6 months ago, now when I use it, I open it and it's much cleaner after lack of use. The hard cover makes a huge difference. Definitely fun to cook on. Just got to use it more so I can get my timing ,etc down .

Not much if any splatter with mine either. I have the 22" blackstone sitting on a homemade cart.

I have a deck, partially covered with concrete then wood out from that with 5 cooking devices on the concrete deck part. Yep I try to be as neat and clean as I can ( I am the only one to clean up after my self ) on the concrete, but after 20 years, stuff does get messy at times.

Yep hose it off every once in a while, helps a little, but yep stuff happens. Not much different than having a few drops on the carpet from the kitchen to the deck every once in a while I have to clean up, taking things in and out, even with my dog trying to help me keep spills clean. Ha Ha.

Have had a 36 in Blackstone 4 burner about 6mo or so. Yep it is a lot less messy than cooking on the Kitchen stove with my tile floor, but yep occasionally something gets dropped or gets away from me or a spatula drips, etc. Yep, meat, dog likes. Nope onions or zukini, nope.
Guess all I can say is have a deck and enjoy remembering what spots caused that. Guess I could use a pressure washer on it someday. JMO Ken Everybody's situation or environment is different. I never heard anyone say, "Hey, my 36 inch griddle was way too big". Ha Ha

I have the 36” version from Sam’s Club. It cooks great, but does spatter. It certainly makes a mess on the deck, but my wife thinks that’s better than the mess I used to make in the house. Also, no more smoke detectors going off!

Ditto ... I have zero splatter on our Blackstone.

I have used a fireproof mat under our WSM for good reason, but if left there for extended time it has discolored the area under it.
