I'm working on repairing the automatic slicing component on this old Hobart 1712E slicer.

Two of the actuating mechanism components are broken: the locking clip (1) is bent, not shown in the video, and the actuating lever (4) is broken on both ends - the far side has the bottom tooth broken off and the other lever end that would connect to the locking clip is broken as well.

I thought I would be able to manually engage the actuating lever using the screwdriver as shown but as seen, the actuating mechanism never drops down to engage the auto slicing function.
Is there another issue that I am missing? Unless its not possible to manually engage the actuating mechanism, it doesn't seem like replacing the locking clip and the actuating lever would provide any benefit.

Edit: Found this youtube video: at 0:50 https://youtu.be/oLJGvdmaYKE?t=47 where pressing the locking clip shows that the actuating mechanism should significantly drop onto the auto slicing hub.

All other electrical components have been restored and the carriage slides back and forth without issue.

Videos of trying to engage the actuating mechanism:

They can do 3D printing in METAL if you can get a design of the part

Service manual of any assistance? Doubt it but here it is in any case

Something serious caused those parts to bend/break.

And for what it's worth, those things were a PITA when they were working.
I used to repair Hobart equipment.
Some of the most overly-thought-out equipment in the whole world.
(except for the AM12/AM14 dishwashers)

I wouldn't spend anymore time on it and just use Armstrong Power.

Just make sure you alternate hands. :)
