Good morning all. Well the time has come after 3 days of reading lots and lots of posts here on this site (think I was late for work 2 of those days lol) I am going to smoke my first pork shoulder. Was up at 6:30 this am and rubed it all down now it is tucked back in the refrige in cling wrap to rest til tomorrow morning when I put it on the smoker. Will season my new smoker tonight and have it all set up ready to go for the morning. A big thanks to all of you who post information on the site it is soooooooooo helpful and had certainly helped my confidence. Thanks Again will keep you updated on my progress tomorrow. Dragfan

Good luck!

dragfan, good luck on your smoke- pork shoulder is good to go with for a first smoke-it's rather forgiving when it comes to heat spikes.

Enjoy!

Good luck. Hope to the pics of your butt. Wait a sec, the pork butt. Never mind, hope to some pics of the smoke food. LOL

What Dutch said,,,Good luck and allow extra time and if gets done early it can set in the cooler longer...Will be looking for pics
