Fireplace Gasket Question

My smoker lid leaks...

I got the 3/4 inch Grapho Glass rope..

I also have the Rutland HiTemp Silicone.

It's a barrel, reverse flow.

Question:  Are there any concerns running this around the entire door?

Looked at some older threads and some people indicate to not put the rope in a place that's above food...

Need to install it tonight if at all possible.

Open to suggestions!

I would hope you don't have any 3/4" gaps to seal. I would not want it falling on anything I was eating. I would use the high temp. Like I said 3/4"??????

I just finished putting on the HiTemp Silicone...

No gaps at 3/4", it's just what I was able to get ahold of.
