I need 15,678 cubic inches and my opening from FB to CC needs to be 33.5 x 12 inches my CC is 36 x 48 cylinder would a 36 wide x 30 tall x 19 deep in inches be ok just seem to have a fire in it's not a user friendly size the FB is rectangle thoughts should the door be on the 19 inch side or the 36 inch side?
Thanks for any help

~45,219 cu. in.
~180 sq. in. FB/CC opening.. under the RF plate... at the end of the RF plate...
~ 15,000 cu. in. for the FB...

Looking at the calculator below, Chord AB will be the width of the RF plate... Segment Height ED will be the height of the segment area for the FB/CC opening..
Make the opening the same as the Green Area..

That being said, you can make the FB 31" wide, Long enough to fit your wood supply + several inches .. and tall enough for a wood grate and room for ash collection + several inches...
Weld the RF plate directly to the top of the FB to allow for room to the meat racks..
Sit in your lawn chair and looking at the pipe, ponder the build and all the things you are planning, to make sure it will do what you want.. and all the parts will fit..

A good plan for the FB is to have upper and lower air inlets for great fire control...
