Hey All,
I just ordered the RecTeq RT-1250. It will be on the inside of my patio. There is a ceiling which is cinderblock and painted. Ideally I do not want the smoke to rise to the top and discolor the ceiling. The patio is surrounded by screen door/wall to let airflow in/out and keep bugs out. My idea is to take a section of the screen out (there is a good spot for this, so that is not the question) and put a clear "pvc" type of board (3x3). Then, get a wide aluminum tube and run it through the pvc board. Then, make it an L shape and put it over the RT-1250 smoke stack. The aluminum tube will be about 2x diameter of the RecTeq, so I can't imagine there will be backing of smoke. The alum tube will over and will not physically connect to the PVC. Think of it as a very focused vent hood
Does anyone think this is a bad idea? RecTeq does not recommend this, but I imagine they don't recommend any kind of modifications from a product/liability perspective.
