Anyone know of what make electric smoker that will got hot enough to crisp turkey or chicken skin in around the $300.00 range

My MB heating element died { only got up to 275deg} and it is time for a new smoker

Why not get the best of both worlds? I've been using a Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone with good success. A lot of people like Mac's, Traegers and Louisiana Grills as well. I'm in AZ as well. Head down to BBQ Island in Tempe for some eye candy. Those guys have a lot of inventory including hardwoods. I didn't buy my grill from them, but I think they carry Green Mountain Grills now.

You could fix your Masterbuilt and then buy a Char-Broil "The Big Easy" for crisping the skin.  Smoke the bird until it's about 140 degrees and then transfer it to the EZ to finish it off.  Works great!
sounds like we have a under 300 dollar winner. I like this idea.
