Electric smoker newbie

Hello,
I`m New to this. I just got a Mastercreaft electric smoker w/electronic display. I have an electric smoke box as well. I am a 30 something hunter from Michigan who loves to make his own sausage and jerky. I've used the smoker a few times with mixed results. Looking for smoking tips and tricks to make it the best I can. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
