Drum smoker??

Looking at either buying a drum smoker or making one. Anyone have some pros and cons they can share? I've read that the preffered charcoal is briquettes? I haven't used them in years. Switched to lump and haven't looked back. Can lump be used in these smokers? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

My temps jump around to much on lump KBB gives me an even temp burn....
