Long ago like back in the year 1995-2000 Bullseye used to make a spicy bbq sauce that came in a glass bottle with an orange label. I very distinctly remember the label was orange. The label looked like the photo below but orange instead of red. I want to say it was called "Ragin Cajun" but it has been so long I can not be sure. This was probably my all time favourite BBQ sauce and I have had a craving for months now. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me find a copy cat recipe for this sauce or even confirm the name of it. I did find a reference to someone else looking for the orange Bullseye bottle as well back in 2008 so I know I am not totally crazy yet.

Interesting. Obviously it was spicy, but did it taste any different than regular Bullseye+spice? They're many copycat recipes for Bulleye, I'd start there and add a few tsp's of red pepper or cayenne. Maybe add a bit of cajun seasoning? Was it only released in Canada?

I don't know if it was available in Canada only or not. It has been a long time since it was around but I will try to describe it. I do remember it had a great smokey heat to it. It had a med sweet heat but had a very savoury flavour. Not just the cayenne or peppers. It definitely had some onion and garlic notes. Maybe describable as across between bbq and franks creamy buffalo sauce? It was a thick sauce that stuck to the meat like the original Bullseye used to before they dropped the HFCS. Slightly lighter in color than the original but still a dark brown in color. It was absolutely amazing on ribs and chicken but had its place on steak as well. Being that it could have been 25 years since I had it its a little hard to remember the details.

This is the only reference to it I have found so far:

So I have a bit of an update. I posted this on another forum and got a reply:
I remember this from when I used to live in Calgary. The orange labelled bottles were called "Ragin Bull" not ragin cajun. It was released in certain areas as a test product but sales were not good presumably because it was too spicy for the times. If you can find it, the Ragin Buffalo might be todays closest match.
Bull's Eye has very regional products. Here in the UK we have many sauces that are not available in the North American market while the US has some that were never released in Canada. Its kind of ironic because the UK doesnt have as much of a BBQ culture as North America does but we have the most sauces available.

These links show the differances in regions

I don’t remember that particular one but the bullseye Memphis style was pretty good. I haven’t seen it in a long time.
