I have found a Hobart Electric Meat Slicer and the price for it is $250.00. Right now all I know about it is this picture and the price.

Do any of you recognize it from the picture and can tell if it might be worth the price. I'm told it has a brand new never used blade and has not been used since it was refurbished.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Rich

Rich, evening.... Looks like it might be worth the drive to PT to take a look.... that way you would know if it was a scam....  check for serial numbers etc.... stolen slicer w/numbers sanded off...  not good......   Did you get in on any of the razor clam digs ?? Saw they were having a few openings.....    Dave

Hi Dave. I'm not a clam digger, tried it several years ago and quickly decided it was to much for for me so I just buy my clams in the store.

I'm hoping one of the SMF members might recognize this slicer and be able to tell me a little info about it, like what size it is and if it is even worth driving distance to PT to look at it..

Rich, call him.... I think it has to be a 12" blade.... Drive over to see him.... try to get it for $200 if it looks good.... check for bearing wobble by wiggling stuff... check the sharpener stones etc....    Have lunch in PT, enjoy the day.... but don't miss a good deal on a great slicer.....

Well, there is my 2 cents...   Dave

That slicer sold for about $1500 new.  As long as the stone set fits and sharpens and the blade doesn't wobble, it should be a fantastic buy!  It has that one word on it.... HOBART.... that is good!  (many resellers don't have the correct stone set and toss in one that won't fit instead and you don't realize it until you get it home and try to sharpen it, then you have to hunt down the correct one, sometimes as much as half the slicer's worth!).

Worth making the drive to check it out for that price & like Dave said maybe you can get it for less - I got mine for a lot less than the starting price - Good luck!
Listen to Pops!

Be careful, but.... If it says HOBART?  I want it!  As I said in a previous post.

Good luck and good smoking.
Yup you said that in my thread about the Hobart slicer & I am VERY happy with mine...

Ok, I'm planning on making the drive and check this slicer out and buy it if all goes well.

Thank you great SMF people for your advice and comments.

I will post pictures of it in action and let you all know that I did get it.
