After my old dishwasher that worked great for many years was replaced I bought a Whirlpool a few years ago. That thing been nothing but a pain! Time to replace it. Trying to stay around $500 if possible. BestBuy has some pretty good sales right now but not sure what to get? Would like to get a Bosch bit they just to $$.

I have a 30+ year old KitchenAid that is still rockin' but I have no clue as to the quality of these units today.

I 2nd Bosch. In all the houses I've worked on 99% have Bosch installed, but you ain't getting one in the $500 dollar range.

I bought a bosch a few years ago at Lowes for 450ish... I'll have to dig up the receipt. Anyway, the darn thing doesn't dry worth a damn. The 20 year old whirlpool it replaced work fine, but I got tired of replacing the cheap aftermarket racks that kept rusting out after a year or so. That and they were increasing in cost and scarcity.

Edit: it was July of 21. after tax etc is was $495, and I still don't like it.

I like Bosch dishwashers. Definitely get one with the 3rd rack. It is handy, it was not available on my cheaper Bosch several years ago and I kick myself for not spending more. My folks have one and you can really stuff a lot in there.

We're happy with our Bosch. It's a few years old and still running great. I will say being empty nesters it doesn't get used all that often.

Bosch all the way. The one I left in SLC was probably 10 years old aa d ran like new. Bought the same one when we moved in here.

As said above, Bosch! We put a GE in back in 2015 and just changed it out for a Bosch a couple weeks ago, should have done the Bosch back in 2015.

Bosch appliances are very good. Until they need repair outside of warranty. When I was a appliance tech. Maytag and Bosch were among the most exspensive to repair. I have a Samsung dishwasher for the last 4 years. Does a very good job. And should be found for under 500.00

My last dishwasher was a bosch. Didnt dry very well but washed well and was quiet. Replaced with a thermador which puts it to shame. Not sure you can get one in your budget though. Third rack is really nice.

I have an appliance buddy who deals Bosch. He is also regularly repairing them. We could have gotten one at his cost from him but we didn't like the interior configurations and none of them had heated drying (then and there). Although I've had to replace the main control panel board out of warranty, we're very happy with the Maytag we bought because it does a great job and has a drying cycle. Main downside is the silverware holder is just OK. We actually use part of the old ones we kept from the dishwasher we replaced. They just dont make the parts as sturdy as that 25 year old Whirlpool in today's "regular Joe" priced machines.

I know how to replace them now so they can be disposable! I just helped my dad replace his $600 (at my appliance buddy's cost to him) dishwasher. He got the same model because the color to match everything else was only available in that model (cant remember the make right now). So he basically "rented" that first dishwasher for 5 years at $10 a month! Of course his replacement labor was free and I picked up the dump fee along with some stuff from my house.

I'd say choose the dishwasher that you like the most in the price range that works. Chances are, there is going to be a repair or replacement in your future either way.

A few years ago when Bosch weren't available, we went with a Beko. It does a good job, dries better than Bosch (I believe it does have powered dry). I've only seen them at our local appliance warehouse, but I'd recommend looking into them. Can't remember the price, but it was cheaper than Bosch.
