I am fairly new to this but travel a bit and have seen different kinds of Mesquite. We are up in West Texas and have lighter colored Mesquite. Down in south Texas they have a dark red Mesquite. Does anyone know if there is a flavor difference?
Well, all I can tell you is I've had mesquite smoked BBQ in south Texas and West Texas. It was all good. I use a mesquite shipped up from Mexico. Still good if you like mesquite, which we do.
