Dial Setting with Needle Valve

Hi, I am installing the needle valve mod in my 2 door MB.  I was curious as to where do y'all put the original gas dial on the gasser?  At minimum or max to adjust the heat with the needle valve?

I leave mine wide open and control the gas with the needle valve.
