I know this is not really smoking but I had to share the big party and the big cookout. The day was a success and all went well. We had 100 lbs of fresh hams and 40 lbs of beef on the roaster cooking at an average of 250 degrees

Sweet mother of God! Is that a roaster or a medieval torture device? Looking good either way! Making my mouth water :)

It might not be smoking but that is one impressive machine, and whole loada meat

I did not have time to take pics when I cut the meat but the pork did have a nice smoke ring in it and really turned out great the beef was very well also but was a little tuff but had very good flavor. Eveyone loved everything and we received a lot of kudos for the food.

Was that cooker in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"

Iron Maiden, is a great name. What a awesome device and a joyous amount of meat. I am impressed!

Looks like everything went well even the weather. Nice job, and congrats on the daughter. You must be very proud.

yes I am proud and everthing did go well and also agree that iron maiden is a good name.

I made this to use at my sons party last year and we did the same thing and that is the only time it gets used. it needs to be a big party to be able to cook that much food

Iron Maiden
I agree
That is some machine you have

The party must have lasted for days with that much meat

I will take some close up pics and give more info to see how things work

Would you mind posting what you made that SMOKIN MONSTER outta of?
I'd like to know.
I know you jerry rigged it but DARN MAN that's a fine beast.
What are the jobbies that hold the meat in?

Thanks in advance
Vman

jerry rigged??

as you seen in previous pics the cages can be removed to put the meat in by removing the 2 hex bolts on each end. The frame for the cage is made from 1/2 inch black pipe and the tines are 1/2 cold rolled steel
The expanded metal in the middle is stainless and was built at the last minute because I needed an air gap to accommodate the amount of meat I needed to cook

The threaded rod in the middle is for the adjustment of the cages by turning one end it brings in both sides equal distance (1 right hand and 1 left hand threaded rod)The slide rods and the blocks & shafts that it rotates on are some scrap from work that are also stainless

The tank is just an old fuel oil tank that I had gotten from my brother in laws father and after he had seen the finished product wants me to return it to him
