Thanks for the comment. It turned out just right. I Wouldn't want it any smaller or larger.

My firebox is 20x20x20 it's a bit oversized according to the calculator, not by much but I would rather have the extra size. The stack was 4" ID sch 40 pipe 36 inches long. I have about 30 to 31 of those above the top of the tank. The bottom of the pipe is about 4" above the cooking grate. Let me know if you need anything else diamentions wise.

The pics I posted were of it's first cook. One thing I am going to do before lighting it again is weld in a heat deflector of sorts in the top of the firebox. Maybe the angled deflector will help some of the heat get moving under the RF plate. Seems like it took a lot of fuel to do the cook, but yet I'm used to a much smaller smoker so it may just be me not the smoker. If someone has some input on the deflector idea..... I'm all ears.

Nicely done Darb!

What a superior job you did, and lots of great Q-view to come in the future!!!  Good luck!

How did I miss this build, looks great. I have the same size tank on frank.

Do you get much radiant heat from the firebox side?

Inside the smoker I thought there would be more but it's not bad at all. Outside, yea I need to add another course of block behind the firebox, it got the stucco pretty warm! This next week I'm going to weld a deflector in the firebox in hope to direct some more of that heat into the smoker. I would have it done but work has kept me busy lately.

Got them all under wraps now! basting away in their own juices along with some other stuff like apple juice, brown sugar etc! Gonna be eating good tonight!
DarbinCo, I have the same pan you have your ribs on. It even has that same "Rustic" look to it....LOL The smoker looks great and the food looks delicious too.....

Darby, evening....  About the radiant heat from the firebox.....  Hang a piece of sheet metal 1" from the firebox.....  the air circulating on both sides of the sheet metal should solve your radiant problems...    Dave

Thanks for the info Darby,  I think my flume might be a tad small.  I haven't attached it yet, but it's 33" long and 3.5 ID.   I'll have to throw it back into the calculator but I noticed the bigger the firebox the bigger the flume in that calc.

Once I get something going more concrete I'll post it up.  Thanks again.
