Hi All,

Have had my WSM for a good amount of time now and I love it. However, I have come across two very good deals for pellet smokers and am very intrigued. The first is a twice used Camp Chef Woodwind with sear box for $575, and the other is a 2 year old Traeger Select Pro smoker for $600. First, I'm torn if I "need" either of these since I already have my WSM. The pellet smokers seem attractive in the sense that you can kind of set it and forget it. I've been watching and reading articles of people comparing the two (Charcoal vs pellet) but am looking for some other opinions. Are either of those two deals too good to pass up? Am I a chump for thinking of going to pellet after having my WSM? What is the meaning of life?

Thanks!

I would buy the flame boss 200 or 300 ( $285-325) and keep the wsm and have the best of both worlds.. I have used my FB300 4 times now and it is awesome.. Turns the WSM into a set it and forget it smoker..I was an hour fromn home yesterday when my phone notified me that my pork butt had reached 201 °...No worries, I had the Flame Boss turn the smoker down to 175 to keep warm !!Keep the WSM.. Yes i am biased , but the wsm is a great smoker ..

Im not a Treager fan so I will not comment on that grill as I dont have any input. I do have a CC Woodwind and with the saerbox that is certainly a steal and I would but that in a heartbeat if I were you. I also own a WSM and love being able to go back and forth between the pellet and the charcoal. CC has some really great features that I like, one being the ash dump. With the CC you are pretty much getting a brand new $900 grill for super cheap.

Neither are too good to pass up - I see deals like that all the time so no need to rush your decision.

Hmm, I've looked at a lot of used prices and searched sales...you see camp chefs with the sear box that go for $1k for less than $600 all the time?

If your seriously thinking about jumping over to the dark side. Then I would take a look in person at both(if possible) and see which one looks and works the best. There has to be a reason why their being sold at such good prices.

Where have you ever seen Woodwind with the searbox for that kind of price?

I have not seen a Woodwind for that price, but I see barely used DLX's going for $200-400 and you can add the sear box for $200.
