Side dished are never the star of the show...but they still deserve our attention.
With that in mind, here is my recipe for Cuban rice and beans.

1. Make 1 cup of white rice.

2. Chop and fry up some bacon. (If you have salted pork, use that instead)

3. Add 1/2 a medium and onion, diced. And 1 bell pepper, diced. Sauté till brown

4. Add 1 can of black beans.
Add spices: oregano, cumin powder, and a cap of apple cider vinegar. Let it simmer a bit.

5. Fold in the rice. You're done.

I served this with grilled Cobia - marinated in lime juice, orange juice, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.

I forgot to take an on-the-plate photo.
Anyway, thanks for looking.

I’ll take a dish!

Sometimes side dishes steal the spotlight, as did your dish! Love when that happens!
