That's not a bad price for Prime, in the current climate.

Where is this? I think Costco meat prices vary regionally.

If I'm not mistaken, Costco will price match anything they have in stock that is not a sale price.

Costco is my place for prime beef. Brisket, steaks. Tucson AZ which is a 90 mile drive for me.

You're paying for the butchering costs, which why whole packers cost less.

In the Costco I shop at, choice brisket is typically higher priced than the whole packer prime I buy.

I wish we had a Costco here. The choice packer at my regular chain store is $9.99.

I have to learn to butcher one of these. I did it once for pot roast and was a total mess, the pot roast was delicious, the kitchen was a mess. Maybe I'll go look for a video or two to get some pointers. The price differential is just too big and I want to smoke one for sure.
