I have this cured beef brisket thats too big to fit in my MPS so I have to cut it, I'd guess its about 10 lbs (Maybe in 4 so I get both ends) I want to boil half and smoke half. The friend who gave it to me said to soak it in water before I smoke it to make it less salty. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks

I've done them and didn't soak them and they came out good, just dont add salt to any rubs, I just put some pepper, garlic and onion powder on mine and smoked at 250

Thank you, now I started making that potato salad too haha

Ive done many. I soaked them overnight with a few water changes. Then rub with the one TNJAKE TNJAKE linked up above. they turn out very good. they usually cook faster than an uncured brisket too.

Do you treat them the same as far as the smoke goes with uncured brisket?

yup, temps and all are the same. they are real easy. Never had one dry out or not turn out good.
