This is our second cooking using our electric smoker, a 40" Masterbuilt unit. I cooked 9 lbs of chicken quarters and 4 lbs of baby back ribs at the same time. I de-skinned and cleaned the chicken, then soaked in a brine mix overnight.  The rib's, I cleaned, cover with my rub mix, rapped, and refrigerator them overnight. Before adding chicken to smoker, I covered with my rub and I added 3 cups of water and one cup of apple juice to the water bowl. I then cooked the chicken for 3 hours and 1 hour extra on the ribs. It all turned out wonderful and we'll be eating on this stuff for days!

Welcome to SMF. There are a lot of very friendly & knowledgeable folks here to help you. I urge you to sign up for the free E-course. It will give you the basics, & even if you are an experienced smoker you may learn something new. Then start asking questions. Good luck & glad to have you aboard. Don't forget we all love Qview! Now, if you would, go to the roll call section & introduce yourself, so we can give you a proper welcome.

Your chicken & ribs both look delicious! Congrats!
