I have an offset masonry smoker that I am upgrading and just bought new cooking grates for the smoking/cooking chamber.  I ordered "Gloss finish porcelain coated cast iron" grates, but received plain cast iron. I ordered the porcelain; coated grates as I thought that would be much easier to clean than the plain cast iron.

Does anyone have any knowledge and/or opinions on porcelain-coated vs. plain cast iron?  Obviously I can return what was sent to me, but I figure I might as well give the plain cast iron a more serious thought before I do.

And while we're at it, what about stainless steel? My main concern is the ease of cleaning.

Thanks!
