Any idea where to find such things? All set to cook up a bunch this weekend and need to get this done fast.

I just got a Thermoworks "Smoke" in time to get one use on it and like it a lot.  It appears to be better made than the Mav and, being radio wave to remote reader, has a much better range than my Thermoworks "blue therm duo". (Discontinued).

I got one of the thermo pro units. Worked well for me so far. Was within 1-2 degrees when tested with boiling/freezing water. I also got one of the javelin pens. Surprisingly, my on board smoker thermo is pretty accurate when compared to the remote.
