Indeed, I also have one of those problems. He's only got one eye because he was a stray kitten I found him and one eye was already gone and the other was very damaged... Named him Pirate. He's okay if I'm using the Macbook but when I'm on the PC desktop... Best remedy is to put out some wet food and hope for the best. ;)

Ahhhh--Another Lucky Kitty!!

Smokey's Mom deserted 3 Male Kittens here 6 years ago. My Son took in the 2 twin Black & Whites & named them "Cheech & Chong" and we took in Smokey. They're all Happy cats. Smokey lays with me whenever I'm on my chair, and while on the iMac I keep elbowing him away, but he keeps nudging his way back in tight. Cats are Awesome. Our last one "Bozo" lived 17 years & 3 months. He was born in an old Gym Bag in a run down, flea infested, condemned Cabinet Shop.

Give Pirate a Hug from me.

@Bearcarver  We have a pocket door into the master bedroom that our cat figured out how to open last week (after living in this house for three years). He will repeatedly hit the door as hard as he can until it shakes open. It sounds like someone is trying to break down the door. Needless to say I ordered a lock for that door because I am tired of having a cat decide he is sleeping in my bed.

LOL---I'm telling you, they're crazy creatures & smart too!!

Smokey can open our Bi-folds in our bedroom by continually jumping on them, making the end slide down the track & open.

So we just leave that door open to avoid all the noise in the middle of the night---That one sounds like somebody breaking in too!!!

The funniest one though, and this is the truth:

My Son got up one morning to see Smokey's 2 brothers on the kitchen counter sharing a pack of treats. He & his wife were trying to figure out who left the treats out, that belong in the wall cabinet above the Party Cheech & Chong were having.

Then a few days later he saw how they got them. The cabinet doors are overlay doors, and if you bump a door against a cabinet, it bounces open about an inch for a second. So he saw the one cat bumping against the "Treat Cabinet" door to get it to bounce open far enough for his brother to slip a paw under the door. Then they'd both work on it until it got open far enough that the self closing springs won't close it. Once they get it open about 10" it won't close. Then once they have it open It's Party Time!!!

They had to move the Treats to a more secure location!!!

Bear, there's an easy fix for your keyboard problem, get one of those dust-blasting cans of compressed air.

I used to watch a house with two cats who were allowed to get up on the computer desk. Yes they do hog the keyboard. Funny thing was, this was one of the early IBM AT computers with the vent grillwork all the way down one side. Cat hair would get matted on the grille, which effectively turned it into air filter media which could catch dust and dander that would otherwise go through the grille. So the contaminant became the filter.

I have an old bookcase that was in my late father's study, next to his desk. The cat I grew up with would visit him and watch him typing, and imitate him by clawing at the bookcase. (You know how pets want to be part of whatever you're doing.) To the cat, it must have looked like Dad was sharpening his claws on the keyboard.

Have fun and . . .
I know what you mean Stan!!

After Bozo (Cat) died, and then Shadow (Black Lab) died, we both agreed no more Pets!!! It hurts too much when they leave you.

But then Smokey's Mom deserted him & his twin Brothers at our house, and I fell in love with the little gray one, but I kept my mouth shut.

Then Mrs Bear & Bear Jr took all three of them to the Vet to get rid of fleas & ticks. I knew she was gonna come in the door & say "I want one!!", so I was ready for her.

She came in the door and said "I want one!!" I replied, "I don't care if you keep one, as long as it's that little Gray One!!"

That's the one she wanted too, and she already had a name picked out----"Smokey", because I was always smoking meat.

So I agreed Smokey would be a better name for a Gray & White Cat than calling him "TBS".

It also happened that our Son wanted the two Black & Whites anyway, and the two Black & Whites like their Dog, and Smokey had no use for him!!!

LOL---End of Story.
