Brownie if your going to KC soon stop by Arthur Bryant’s. You won’t be disappointed. Some of the best ribs I’ve had.

I have endorsed Bryant's as well. Quite the experience if you go to the original downtown.

I have actually eaten at the downtown Arthur Bryants the last time I was there. The food was ok, but they were having some staffing issues as well as their tellers were down. That made it quite a debacle of sorts.

Now there was a place called Slaps that was extraordinary that I went to. Hands down the best restaurant BBQ I've ever had.

Too bad. They used to be quite the spectacle. Haven't been there in lots of years. Things change, I guess. Never heard of Slaps.

Wasn't the original name Oklahoma Joe's? The wife and I ate there about 10 years ago. We also ate at Jack Stacks the night before while on the same trip to KC. Jack Stacks was delicious and OKie Joe's was even better. Those were some really good ribs.

Yes that was the original name. And yes, Jack Stack is pretty tasty too.

Cant say enough about Slaps! They are a newcomer to the KC BBQ arena, but are quickly becoming popular. In fact I was just looking at the Yelp reviews, and I see I'm not their only fan.;) This is exactly the hole-in-the-wall kind of BBQ joint that you would ever ask for... served on butcher paper and everything. Everything was perfect.

But I have to try some of these other places... Im making a list!

What about Gates ? I never ate there but used buy the sauce years ago .

Gates is pretty good. Used to stop there on the way to Chiefs games for tailgate food. Just not the ambiance as the others, and would definitely prefer others for taste.

Saw those guys on TV. Slaps is an acronym for their BBQ team name...Squeal Like A Pig BBQ.

So I am sitting here at the KC airport bar as I write this. Been eating bbq all week. Slaps, Joe's and others. Slaps is still my favorite. 2018 KCBS Grand Champ and im convinced. In fact it just so happened I was staying at the Argosy Casino and hotel where the KCBS was having their annual convention this weekend. Man! Did I luck out this trip! But this place is nutz right now over football... lots of Chiefs fans of course...
