That Cachaca is available at my local ABC store, I'll have to give it a try.

I noticed in your signature the Amazon link suggestion. Is that just the insert link thing or is there something other specifically that one should do? I will definitely do that, this is a well built site.
I was just getting ready to make another. I going to use real sugar just to see the difference this time. Click that three line in upper left corner and than click on amazon. I have the link copied in a shortcut on my desktop.

can't get past the tomato juice.
Same here . Had a buddy that made a " Bloody bull " . Used Beefamato as the base . I don't think they make that anymore , but I've had them with tomato juice mixed with beef broth .

Wife and I stopped by for a bourbon tasting...

Two on the left are for the wife, bit on the sweet side. Tasted 10 in total, so tried picking our favorites ( or mine ). The center bottle was bottle your own. After we left we realized we forgot a bottle of whiskey specially bottled for this year's 84th annual Sturgis rally, only 288 bottles.

I bet they weren't giving those away...🤣
That is true! But I'd spend it eventually, just something new to us. They had a few bottles of a limited edition left but no samples... it was $185 for a bottle. That just makes me curious!

Interesting, I dont have the three lines, even if I drop my wall of ad and tracker blockers. But I did find that I have an Amazon button right below the site logo. Plopped that as bookmark for the future.

I'm another who doesn't drink alcohol. My last drop of liquor was in the early 80s. Long story short. You know it's time to quit when you pi$$ off an entire bar. Especially one you work at. So I guess if I were going to have a cocktail it would have to be a Shirley Temple or a Roy Rodgers.

Drinks are liquid art that can appeal to the senses (visuals, aroma, taste, texture, development, memory, place, etc.) just as much as a chewable, plated dish can. Sometimes, the liquor, neat, gets it done on its own; other times, the booze is just there in the cocktail so people can rationalize actually paying for the artwork they consume.

I love playing around with things like smoked maple syrup, fruit shrubs, bubbles, brines, "teas," garnishes, even serving ware, just to see what I can make that *fits* together (boozy or not). Of course, I also love sitting back and savoring the results of someone else's "playing around" with beverage ingredients/process, too...

I really like that 51 mixed with coke but have not been able to find it. I picked up a bottle of
Rota 48 Silver Cachaca and it nasty. Oh well. Maybe try it in an Caipirinha?

Thought I would try to wake this thread up and see if there are some more idea's. I making some more of my Kahlua. It is so good just on the rocks. I going to check abv after I come up with a total volume after making but should be around 35 proof. Would like it at 40 proof. I may play around with it and report back.

It came in at 38 proof. Another .2 cups of vodka would get to 40 but I good with it. Just want it up a little for when make Colorado Bulldogs.

Well, I’m on a bit of a Sazarac kick this winter. Been using Rittenhouse rye as the base. Not really all that different from a classic Old Fashioned ( not one with all the muddled fruit) other than the Absinte and different bitters.

I have the same vices as I had in an earlier post ,cheap beer and decent single malt scotch. Liquor store called today to tell me my order for Glenmorangie Cadboll Estate had come in. I went right down and grabbed it for a wee dram tonight !

I would love some of that but a bit out of my price range right now. I bet it is very good. Love scotch but hard to find a decent affordable one anymore. Had a buddy years ago that would bring me a bottle of Balvenie when came back from oil fields. He brought some
Balvenie 14 Year Old Peat once that was incredible.

I have a couple bottles of Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye I have been waiting for a special occasion to open. Just finished one called Chicken Cock which was pretty good and has an interesting back story to its history. Been lucky lately and have found some Bookers and plan on giving one bottle to my dad for fathers day.

I used to get Rittenhouse for $19 before it got discovered. Now it's something like $27 + ridiculous taxes.
